What we do...

ENGAGEMENT:

Medway Neurological Network (MNN) provides a single point of contact for the service providers to contact those with a neurological condition and for the neurological charities to engage with our service providers to improve the services.  This is achieved in a number of ways including: by use of this website; by our Email: info@medwayneuro.org.uk; by our Facebook page: MedwayNeurologicalNetwork; and by MNN representation on a range of health and social care committees, such as: the Medway CCG Neurology Task & Finish Group; the Medway Physical & Sensory Disabilities Partnership Board; Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) Leaders Network.  Our service providers are also invited to MNN Quarterly Steering Group Meetings.

PROVIDE INFORMATION & RAISE AWARENESS OF NEUROLOGICAL CONDITIONS

MNN, in association with Medway Adult Education and Nucleus Arts, held a MEDWAY NEURO-ARTS FESTIVAL on 20-21 July 2019, for more details please click Here. This event demonstrated both the therapeutic value of the arts and raised awareness of neurologigical conditions and the support that is available locally. Last year MNN, in association with Medway School of Pharmacy, held a  MEDWAY NEURO-FAIR on 24 March 2018 at the Pilkington Building, Universities at Medway, see Here.

MNN also raises awareness by having an information stall at other events in Medway organised by Disability Medway Network, Medway Youth Trust Charity Fetes, St Mary's Island Community Centre Christmas Fair etc.

MEDWAY SKYLARKS

MNN, in association with the Canterbury Cantata Trust and the Sidney De Haan Research Centre for Arts & Health, is the parent organisation for this Sing to Beat Parkinon's neurologicaal choir.  This therapeutic activity has been proven to be effective for those with Parkinson's Disease and the research has now been widened to include ALL other neurological conditions.  Medway Skylarks meet every Saturday morning during school term times from 10.30am to noon at the St Mary's Island Community Centre, Island Way West, Chatham, Kent ME4 3EP.  For more information please click here.
